Because QORTAL is a completely open-source and decentralized project, it is completely community-driven which means if you want to see QORTAL succeed we need you to join in on the cause! There is no central corporation or big money behind this project, just humans of all types and nationalities from all over the world who want to see a better world through the lens of decentralization. Whether you are a coder or simply someone who likes to share funny cat videos, QORTAL has a place for you! Bring your skills to the community and join in on the QORTAL revolution!
Qortal now has multiple new interfaces with dramatically improved ease of access. Including methods that do not require installing anything. However, in order to chat without a delay on Q-Chat, Qortal’s built-in text-based messaging platform, there is a spam-prevention requirement of having 4 QORT in your account. This initial QORT can and will be provided to you by the Qortal Community, via one of the methods below.
The ‘Qortal Cloud Chat’ is a nextcloud-based server hosted by CHD – https://crowetic.com – who also builds the QORTector Devices (palm-sized desktop computers built to run Qortal)
Access the Qortal Cloud Chat and introduce yourself, and crowetic and/or one of the others there would be happy to get you the initial QORT so that you may participate actively in Q-Chat. Or, if you’d rather handle things fully on your own, see the information below for information on how to leverage Qortal’s truly cross-blockchain trade platform to obtain QORT. (Qortal has the only true cross-blockchain trade platform with no middlemen of any kind.)
You may also install the Qortal Browser Extension ( on Brave, Chromium, Chrome, Opera, or any Chromium-based Browser) and leverage https://qort.trade site to trade for QORT with LTC (Litecoin) or other supported coins of Qortal, directly cross-chain. This is also possible via the hosted access methods with no installation at all, such as https://hub.qortal.link (desktop) and https://go.qortal.link (mobile). All that is needed is some Litecoin (or any of the other supported coins), and a few minutes. You can directly cross-chain trade (with no tokens, no middlemen, and no additional fees) for QORT, then leverage that QORT to Register a Name on the Qortal Chain, chat quickly in Q-Chat, and publish data on QDN (data that will live indefinitely with no hosting fees of any kind.)
The Qortal Community has centralized locations to assist new users in joining, as well as a chat that does not require registration to access.
